Jan & Bros

Leadership

The people accountable

A family business is only as good as its word, and a word belongs to a person. These are the people who give it.

Second generation

Jan Abdul Rahman Mohtisham

Second generation, and one of the four sons of the founder. With his brother Jan Abdul Qadir Basha he established Jan Bros in Dubai in 1967, while their brothers Abdul Gaffar and Ismail Mohtisham continued M. M. Joofri & Sons in Bahrain. He is quoted in the company's own history describing the earliest years serving the transiting dhows.

Thank you all for being a part of Jan Bros' community. Here at Jan Bros, I am much delighted to serve you and remain to serve you better. Over the years our customers', employees' and other stakeholders' continuous support has made it possible for us to be where we are today.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Jan Bros' community. The small fruit and vegetable shop that Joofri Mohtisham started in Bahrain in 1930 is now a ninety-year-old company. Our ninety years of rich history reflects the strength that Jan Bros people have used to constantly transform the company to where it stands today. Our brands have touched the lives of millions throughout the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

Jan Bros people share a common commitment: integrity, honesty, teamwork and continuous improvement — the values that Jan Bros was built on from the very beginning. At Jan Bros our objective is to provide high quality products at reasonable prices. Quality for Less is what we stand for.

As one of the respected and leading non-food consumer products enterprises, we are committed to bringing in quality goods and serving them to our consumers without hurting their wallets. We are focused on growth by taking our products to the rest of the world, step by step, so people everywhere may benefit from them.

Haroon R. Mohtisham

Third generation. Leads the Group's commercial direction. His published message marks 2017 — the fiftieth year of trading under the Jan Bros name — as the year the company also surpassed all its previous revenue records.

The year 2017 was a milestone year for us at Jan Bros. We reached fifty years of operation under the name of Jan Bros and also surpassed all our previous revenue records. The past decade, despite its turmoil, has been more than satisfactory.

Stepping into the new decade we see economic turmoil continuing around us. Economic cycles have matured in most advanced economies and global corporate giants have strengthened their foothold in the smallest of markets. For survival, each company must maximise its efforts and carve out a niche. That is what we do best, and what we intend to do in excess in the years ahead.

We pride ourselves on providing the best products at marginal prices, so that no one is deprived of good quality. Our constant search has been to bring the latest and most advanced products to consumers — and to earn a higher level of satisfaction from them not through our words, but through our products and our service.

The success of Jan Bros would not have been possible without the contribution of our clients and customers, our staff, our shareholders and our dedicated local partners. I thank you all for your continuous support.
