Jan & Bros

Company

A trading house, not a middleman

Jan & Bros owns its brands, imports its own goods, runs its own trading premises and sells through its own people. Four generations of one family have built it that way.

Who we are

Ninety years in the Gulf trade

We are one of the Arabian Gulf’s established business houses, specialising in personal care products and general goods. We operate from our head office in Deira, Dubai, with premises across Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait.

The business began in Manama in 1930 and crossed to the U.A.E. in 1967. Its parent company, M. M. Joofri & Sons, still trades in Bahrain today. The founder’s principles — integrity and social responsibility — remain the operating code.

What has changed is the range. What has not changed is how we deal.

What we do

Four ways this business works

Most distributors do one of these. We do all four, which is why we can hold a price point others cannot.

01

We own our brands

Jan & Bros develops and owns its consumer brands rather than only representing others. Brand ownership began in 1985 with Concord.

02

We distribute to retail

Our own sales force supplies chain stores, cooperatives, supermarkets and independent grocery accounts across the Gulf.

03

We operate our own outlets

The Group runs its own retail premises in the G.C.C., including the Concord Shoppe concept store opened in Dubai in 2020.

04

We work through appointed agents

Beyond our own markets, exclusive appointed agents carry the portfolio into further territories.

Who we supply

Every channel in the Gulf trade

From national chains to a single grocery in a souq street — supplied by our own sales force, or through appointed agents beyond our markets.

  • Chain stores
  • Supermarkets & hypermarkets
  • Cooperative societies
  • Independent grocery
  • Wholesale & re-export
  • Pharmacies
  • Appointed agents & distributors

How we operate
